Objective 1

In order to revitalize Spotify’s subscriber page, I redesigned the layout to feel sleek and modern, yet exciting and easy-to-digest. Not wanting to stray too far from Spotify’s successful branding staples, I used a similar Sans typeface, and expanded upon their base color palette by using a vibrant, yet simple gradient of colors. This color palette helps to draw the user’s attention to the four main listener plans.

In addition to a light version, I also created a dark version that could be toggled based on the user’s personal preference.

Objective 2

In order to optimally display the four listening plans, I incorporated the use of four separate gradients, with more detailed plans being assigned more detailed gradients. I also created high contrast areas within the design, where a user’s eye would immediately be drawn. For example, I used yellow call-to-action buttons and added blue experience check marks against a vibrant green background, which results in a harmonious, yet easy-to-read layout that guides the user down the length of both the mobile and desktop pages. Furthermore, I made sure to highlight the popular “1 Month Free” Premium offer at the top of each page. If interested, users can click the “Get Started” button to be moved through to the sign-up page.

In order to further optimize the mobile layout of the design, I created compact tabs for each plan that highlight important information such as pricing details and listener count. If the user wishes to learn more, they simply click the down arrow, and the tab will expand to show more information. These drop down tabs keep the design feeling clean, despite the space limitations of a mobile layout.

In summary, through the use of color, contrast, and clean design, I was able to display the four listening plans in a manner that was intriguing and easy-to-digest.
