MELT – All Your Finances, One Place
Role: Product Designer (Sole Designer)
Tools: Adobe : illustrator / XD
Project Type: Conceptual App Design
Duration: ~ 1 Month
Overview
MELT is a conceptual finance app that brings budgeting, credit tracking, bill reminders, savings, and file organization together into a single intuitive platform. In a saturated market of fragmented tools, MELT was designed to make managing money feel less like a burden and more like a rhythm.
I led the entire design process, from user personas and app architecture to UI systems and branding. My goal was to create a visually engaging, emotionally calm interface that puts users in control without overwhelming them.
Problem
People use multiple apps for their personal finance. One for budgeting, one for credit monitoring, another for bills. This leads to stress, missed payments, and a lack of holistic financial understanding.
Goal
Design a single, seamless mobile experience that:
Unifies all financial touchpoints
Is visually soft and welcoming
Feels intuitive for daily use
User Research
I developed 3 primary personas, each with different financial habits and needs—from the gig worker tracking multiple income streams to the first-time credit card user. Through hypothetical pain-point mapping and market observation, I identified a common need for:
Simplicity and visual clarity
Timely notifications
Frictionless account linking
A calm design that builds financial confidence
Reflection
MELT helped me practice designing a product with a human-first approach, prioritizing clarity and calm over flashy fintech aesthetics. If I were to evolve the project further, I would:
Conduct usability testing with real users
Build motion prototypes for onboarding and notifications
Explore desktop and tablet breakpoints
